Area
Groups, Activities, Happenings and Retreats:
Southern Illinois Pagan Alliance is
an open social network (not a coven) to all those who want to join
and participate. The main group and branches of SIPA have open
gatherings on each Sabbath. For more information, click:

COMING SOON: The Country
Goddess participates with area local groups to have open Sabbaths.
Beginning in late Summer 2010, TCG will have at least two Sabbaths
hosted at or by the store for followers of High Magick. More
information will be announced late Spring 2010.
The Country Goddess supports all area groups and
organizations dedicated to an open heart, spirituality, healing,
shamanism and demonstrates professionalism in its pursuits. We are open to all spiritual paths as reflected in
our store, as well as Reiki organizations, Healing touch
organizations, etc. We do not play favorites, but believe in a
joining and exchange of wisdom and ideas for all which we believe is
best for our area's community. So reach out, network,
come reserve our meeting and classroom areas for meetings, meet new
people, be respectful and make new memories...the world is full of

Services through The Country
Goddess:
Handfastings (marriages) and Belly Blessing for expectant
Mothers are just a few faith services we offer. Handfasting is
a Celtic tradition and very popular, it is very similar to marriage ceremonies and can be done as part
or in place of a traditional wedding ceremony. Handfastings can be
legally
registered with the state or not as a commitment ceremony. Those
interested in handfasting or similar ceremonies such as themed
weddings like renaissance, Native American, etc. may contact the
store at thecountrygoddess@yahoo.com.
Our owner is an ordained minister and does handfastings or can refer you to a the appropriate
party for other traditions in our area such as Native American,
Buddhist, Hindu, Christopagan etc. Belly Blessing are to bless the
expectant mother and child. Crystal and Bernie are
ordained Reverends, we also have other reverends representing many
faiths.

The Shamanic
Path: A Journey for Beginners
August (TBA). (time TBA) Learn about the
practices of Core Shamanism with this ancient method of
spiritual guidance and healing, dating 100,000 years B.P. and
practiced throughout the globe. In this basic workshop you will
learn about the 3 levels of non-ordinary reality from a Shamanic
perspective. Through the sonic rhythm of the drum, you will
learn how to journey to the Lower and Upper Worlds in
non-ordinary reality to access power animals and spirit guides.
Several journeys for guidance and healing will be experienced
during the workshop.
What to Bring to Class: Drum or rattle, journal or notebook to

Meet our featured instructor: About the Instructor…
Theresa Smith
has been
working with the Tarot for over 30 years. She received her first
Tarot deck, as a gift from her father, from Samuel Weiser’s
bookstore in Greenwich Village, New York. She began reading Tarot
professionally at Psychic Fairs and by appointment about 20 years
ago while living in Fort Myers, Florida. She is also a Reiki Master
and Shamanic Practitioner. She lives in the country, south of
Carbondale, with her dog Lexi and two cats Missy and Mischa.

mourn the loss of Mabel Blankenship, our grandmother, passed this month
in April. She was loved by all. She was by
