Description of the Class:  This class is an exploration into the tradition, practice, and history of the enigmatic and much-storied Tarot. We will be covering the origins of the Majors (Jewish) and the symbolism found in each major and their relationship with the divine and the tree of life.  We will also be covering all the basics of tarot history and myths, how to choose a deck, spreads you can utilize, tarot ethics, and the meanings and imagery of the major and minor Arcana cards. Major reversals will also be discussed.

Required Text:   A desk of tarot cards, Decks may be purchased at The Country Goddess.

Required Materials:   Student needs a notebook and a tarot deck. 

Prerequisites: Working basic knowledge of tarot. 

Objectives:  Upon completion of this class you will be able to demonstrate a intermediate knowledge of Major and Minors, emphasis on symbolism of the deck, astrological associations and Hebrew association of the majors to the tree of life. Basic working knowledge of the tarot is assumed. Various Spreads will also be introduced outside of the basic celtic cross and horoscope spread.

Note: Those interested in reading cards professionally are advised to take the Tarot Part II (this class) and III course.
